Working with vintage computing, and finding that you need to flash an ancient Intel (and others) 1702A EPROM chip? Need just one or a handful of chips programmed one time only?
Unlike essentially all EPROM types that came after, these chips are not programmable with any current commercial equipment, and a DIY programmer is cost prohibitive for one off work.
This service INCLUDES THE EPROM. These chips have been obsolete for decades and can themselves be hard to source. I provide one 1702A EPROM, from Intel or another manufacturer. You send me the 256-byte file you want burned onto a chip, in binary, Intel hex, or Motorola s-record format, and I mail you the programmed EPROM, free shipping.
I’m a hobbyist too and not a high volume operation, I do this as a service to the community— I happened to have invested in a programmer for these chips and an eraser and a stock of old eprom pulls for my own projects but it’s a pain to do that if all you need is a couple roms burned.
