We are providing these reclaimed pieces of history to be used for fireplace mantels, shelves, etc. and will custom cut to your size that is needed for your home.
If you have a cabin or lodge with a large fireplace, these hand hewn beams would be the perfect fit due to the large height x width measurements. If you desire an 8’, 10’, 12’, etc fireplace mantel, please message us with your required size. We will send pictures for your satisfaction before shipment.
This eBay ad (pictured) depicts a 8” x 12” x 58” beam at a price of 5.00 with Free Shipping!
Beams are 141 years old. Refer to pictures referencing the date stone of 1880 and the original calligraphic handwritten ledger showing dates of purchases. This building was located in a small farming village in Northwest Ohio. It was used as a town hall, later a library, and eventually fell vacant for over 40 years.
Please contact us for a quote letting us know your length in inches needed. We will get back with you generally with a same-day quote which will include shipping.
Pictures show one of the beams before final removal from building. Also reference pictures of one of the beams being removed from the building during demolition.
Beams will be cleaned of dirt and grime that has accumulated from the last 140 years, but will be left in their raw form for you to finish if desired. Keep in mind that once we cut the ends, you will see a cleaner edge of the poplar wood.
Amazingly, after almost 150 years of age,
you can still smell the fresh wood once these beams are cut into!
