Antique Victorian Eastlake Style Fireplace Mantel - C. 1885 Butternut Architectural Salvage. The overall dimensions are 52" x 57" x 10" deep, the mantel shelf is 49" tall and the opening for the fireplace is 30" x 36" tall. This mantel is very nice, is made of solid butternut, and has very ornate details including corbels supporting the top shelf, hand-carved rosettes, fluted detail, multiple round-over edges and an upper shelf back. It is in great condition and has an antique tan painted finish with a beautiful aged patina. This piece is absolutely beautiful and ready for installation!

Note: If you are unfamiliar with Butternut Woodwork - please do some research. This type of wood was very commonly use in our area for the exquisitely crafted Victorian buildings from the 1860's to the early 1910's. Since then it has become virtually extinct except for fast growth trees for quick harvest. The grain and finished patina is absolutely beautiful and is truly unique (some refer to it as white walnut). These qualities make any butternut woodwork architectural salvage a truly one of a kind piece!
The items we select are Architectural Salvage items from homes throughout Illinois and Missouri.  This item has only been cleaned to preserve the original old patina and is ready for display or restoration.  Every step is taken to protect the item condition and the years of use and aging.
This item can be picked up at our location free of charge, or we would be happy to coordinate freight shipping via R+L Carriers including residential delivery. They do pick up at our location daily so once the item is crated and picked up, it should be to you within two to four days.
