    Here is a wonderful and rare and authentic
    booklet about Old Santa Fe , New Mexico
    The 17 page booklet is a RARE Laura Gilpin item featuring her photography.
    It features ten of her black and white photographs.
    In addition there are photographs of Sena Plaza by WIlliam Penhallow Henderson; painter, photographer and architect; and his wife and author and photogtrapher Alice Corbin Henderson.
    It is an in depth photographic journey of the North Side of the Plaza in Santa Fe shwoing the Palace of the Governors and the offices and stores under the portal and the historic details of the past occupancy and little kernels of fascinating information such as that the Spaanish Garrison of troops at the site of the of the 1948 art museum. Room 109 houses the offices of the Atomic Energy Commission. Several pages and photos devoted to No. 111 Lebaron "L." Bradford Prince's house when he was Territorial Governor and that the Field Estate people acquired the quarters in 1942 and it wqas used as a Military Service Club. No. 121 features the dwelling and placita which was passed the the Prince and Sena Families, culminating with Sens Plaza ~~~  Bernardino de Sena came to Santa Fe in the early 18th Century and the property was passed to Don Juan Sena   and he gave it to his son Mayor Jose D. Sena when he married Dona isabel Cabeza de Baca ............  and eventutally it grew to 33 rooms and the family lived on the south and west side of the placita. The second floor of the west wing was the ballroom ( and doubled as a meeting hall for large Santa Fe gatherings ). The Sena Plaza was ssold in 1927 and remodeled for business. The Sena Family reserved the right to erect an altar under the portal for the annual Corpus Christi Procession which is pictured in one of Gilpin's photographs. Finally there is a map of the art depicted on the last page of the booklet. It measures 6 1/2" by 8".  Please feel free to ask any questions about this most rare New Mexican book and photographic gem by the noted contributors.
