    Description

    Description
    This is a great piece
that was salvaged from a Lancaster PA Victorian.
It is made of pine and is painted.
The upper section has a beveled mirror in the middle, see last pic.
To either side of the mirror are pairs of fluted columns with carved capitals.
There are carved panels above and below each pair of columns.
Across the top is a wonderful deeply carved pediment with a Northwind face in the middle.
The lower section has a shelf trimmed in ornate molding that is supported by 4 corbels with carved acanthis leaves on the faces.
There is a rope turned column with a carved capital below each corbel.
The breast has applied carved festoons with ribbons.
All the carving is real wood, not gesso.
It measures 72 inches wide, 90 tall, and is 13 inches deep.
The firebox opening is 48 inches wide by 36 tall.
The lower is 53 tall and the upper is 37 tall.
Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a couple chips to the capitals but we have the pieces.
Please look at the pictures carefully.

    Terms of Sale
I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
    About Us
My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting.  Steve and Michelle
