Description
I have received quite a few requests to repair Astrocade's that aren't working. While I'm a little uncomfortable with trying to do repair service through e-bay, I decided to try it and see how it goes. Please check back to see if there have been any changes to this listing, in case I realize I forgot to include something. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask! I DO NOT work on any other systems. Sorry! :)If you have a non-working unit that you would like to trade in, please send me a message.
So here is how this will work:
You pay for the repair service, and then I can provide you with my contact information. You will ship me your non-working unit. Then I will either fix it, or not, and ship it back to you. If I can't/don't fix it, there will be no charge.
The following pertains to the repair of your unit ONLY. I charge per minute for the first 70 minutes (rounded up to the next 5 minutes), using an online stopwatch. If it turns out that you only have a bad capacitor, I will only charge you for a "full" recap of your unit (see below) and no other labor. Most repairs are completed in under 45-60 minutes, but this is not a guarantee. If I cannot repair your unit within 70 minutes, I will continue to work on it to try to figure out the problem and there will be NO additional charges.
If I cannot fix your Bally, I will keep about 15% of the return shipping to cover fees
(rounded up to the nearest ),
and I will refund you the purchase price. You will be out shipping both ways.
Any chips replaced will be socketed, unless it is one of the few that cannot be (oscillator and under EJECT button). If you do not want your replaced chips socketed, let me know. I DO NOT CHARGE for most parts. I DO CHARGE for custom chips if they are bad, and we can discuss that further if it is an issue for you. After your unit is repaired (or not) it will be shipped back to you, and you will be refunded the difference. If there is any extra charge, it will need to be paid before I will ship it back to you. You are pre-paying for return shipping when you purchase this service.
To recap a unit, I charge . The extra, again, is to cover fees. If you do not want new capacitors, you will be refunded . Keep in mind, your 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner isn't worth more because it doesn't run, but has the original spark plugs.
I also refurbish controllers, if needed, and the price will vary based on the issue with the controller. If interested, let me know and I will re-post that listing. You can include them, and I'll refund you the difference.
If we can save on shipping, you will be refunded the difference.
To save on shipping, I will have you go through a simple tear down process before mailing your Bally to me ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE DOING IT. I do not want your RF box and cable, OR your power supply UNLESS you think either is causing your issue. I prefer you do not ship me your Bally complete to prevent your plastic case from being damaged during shipping. But if you are not comfortable removing some screws, etc., we will work that out. Precautions can be taken to avoid damage during shipment.
ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK!!! This listing will go away if someone purchases this service, but I will re-post if after I have finished up with them. I have a real job, and would love to do this full time, but I am not going to have several units at once, and take a chance on getting things mixed up ~ so one at a time! :)
Also, check out ballyalley.com for more info on this amazing system.
DO NOT
rest the bottom of the controllers on your leg during game play.
DO NOT
bend them at the base. This breaks the wires inside of them, and that is time consuming to fix.
DO NOT
play the Bally if it is sitting on carpet, and
DO NOT
leave it plugged in when not in use.
WILL BE SHIPPED PRIORITY WITH INSURANCE. I accept Paypal for payment.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
