Description

This is a modification service for DCD-2560.
This is a definitely audiophile grade cd player.  Its true greatness is not revealed until you do the modification.  For the most economical way, send me the board and transport for MOD0.  Otherwise MOD2 is the next best option by sending me the whole cd player for modification and cleaning/maintenance.
You send me the board, I work on it and test and then send it back to you.

In my opinion, these models are the best cd players for the money after a mod is made.
It uses the legendary Sony KSS-151A laser which is the heart of this cd player.
This same laser is used in multi thousands of dollars cd players like Sony Reference R1 cd player
Esoteric, Wadia and of course older brothers DCD-2560, DCD-3520 and DCD-3560.

REMOVAL OF BOARD, PACKAGING AND SHIPPING
1.  Unplug power cord
2.  Remove screws on top, side and rear.
3.  Remove top black cover
4.  Remove screws on sheetmetal cover and remove cover
5.  Take notes and take lots of picture before removing any screws, connectors.
6.  Remove all screws on board and one in the rear near RCA jacks
7.  Remove all connectors including flat ribbon cables from display and laser
8.  Cover in antistatic bag (preferred) with multiple wraps of bubble wrap
9.  The corners of the board tend to break if not adequately protected.
Make sure ALL four corners are well covered with bubble wrap.
Final wrapped board should be at least 5-7 inches thick
10. Use a sturdy box'
11.  Insure for 0 via UPS or USPS.

Denon DCD-XXX Modification for superior sound
Reasons to modification:
   Improve soundstage by opening up the frequency response
   More punch to low frequency and accentuated highs.
   Lower noise level with audiophile grade opamps
   Eliminates ear fatigue
   One of cheapest and effective sound improvement to your system
The sound improvement is very substantial without changing the integrity of
the original cd player.  Many so called professional modifiers change
everything for thousands of dollars.  They change the clock, DAC,
powersupply, RCA jacks and of course opamps and capacitors.  Well,
that's like changing the engine, transmission and suspension of a Camry
trying to make a Lexus.  For that money, I would get the Lexus to begin
with.  I am a minimalist trying to get the most bang for the buck.  MOD0 is
about sending the the board only for modification so this option is the
cheapest.  MOD1 and 2 is sending the entire cd player and using the
components available and of course the most expensive with MOD2.
MOD 0
It's essentially MOD2 but you send me the PCB board and replace the
opamps and capacitors instead of the entire cd player.
Cheapest and most bang for your buck.
Turnaround time is between 1-3 weeks.
If you want to send the entire cd player, MOD2 is available because I work
on the entire cd player but also more expensive due to shipping cost.
MOD 2
1. Replace the power filter capacitor and most capacitors in the DAC area
(larger than 1/4" diameter) audiphile grade
capacitors including Elna, some
of them are Panasonic or Nichicons due to
size limitations.
2. Replace all opamps with audiophile grade Burr-Brown after the DAC
3. Replace belt A and B with factory new ones
4. Relube the tray mechanism with NLGI  grease for metal/plastic
5. Relube delicate areas with Teflon based oil
6. Clean all RCA jacks and headphone jack and volume pot with Deoxit
(contact cleaner)
7. Burn in for 1-2 hours for all the components.
8. Clean inside and outside
