This auction is for the purchase of a repair service for your JL Audio 500/5 or JL 450/4 car amp. The repair fee covers parts and labor on all the repairs needed to restore your JL Audio 500/5 amp to normal operation. The .00 return shipping fee is for returning your repaired amp back to you and covers all 50 states.
If you are buying a non-working JL Audio 500/5 amp off Ebay and want to save time and shipping costs have the seller ship the amp directly to me for repair and email me the tracking number.

Before packing up your amp for shipping please take note and write down all your filter control and switch settings so they can be reset to those settings when you receive your amp back. During amp function testing check-out they are used to confirm they all work. How all the gains, filter controls and switch settings are set determine how the amp sounds to the user, not the repair.
You must properly pack and send in your amp for repair to the address below. Use a box large enough to allow 1.5-2 inches of room on all sides of the amp for packing material. With JL Audio amps the heatsink fins are prone to breaking in shipping if not packed correctly so if possible  use stiff cardboard around the fins in addition to the packing material for added protection. Do not use newspaper for packing material, use bubblewrap, styrofoam peanuts or a combination of the two. If the amp is packed properly it should not shift in the box when shaken. You may want to purchase shipping insurance when you ship it.
The 0.00 repair fee would cover any repair parts & labor except amps where the main board is cracked, badly burned or has water damage. Those amps would be considered beyond economical and reliable repair. As far as the daughter board for example it can be replaced if it is unrepairable at no extra charge. Also sometimes when the output or power supply MOSFETS fail they can leave a black residue on the heatsink & board that may appear to be burned but it is just a residue that can be easily cleaned off.
Common problems with car amps that are repairable- no output, distorted output, dead amp, amp stays in protect mode,low impedance mode,thermal problems that start after the amp is on for awhile such as distorted or no output, amp shuts down or goes into protect mode.
If the amp is determined unrepairable because a needed part is NLA, main board cracked, extensive electronic damage or water damage the amp board set will be exchanged with a tested working amp board set to complete the repair. So either way you get back a working amp.
There is a 60 day return policy for amp repairs. If the car amp is properly installed, gains set properly using the JL Audio owners manual, amp is not abused and fails within 60 days you can return it and the amp will be re-repaired or the repair fee refunded.
We
DO NOT guarantee other parts which may fail or other defects which may arise during this period. Under no circumstances will we be responsible for intermittent or hidden defects which were not specifically listed as having been repaired. When a amp is returned and the original problem it was repaired for cannot be confirmed during testing (the amp still tests good) a 50% refund  of the repair fee (return shipping costs not included) will be issued and the amp sent back. So please, save time and shipping costs, check over your installation, head unit, gain settings, RCA cables and ground connections carefully BEFORE returning a amp under warranty.
