Onkyo ND-S1 Digital Media Transport for iPod / iPhone, 30 pin dock, provides high quality sound output from your iPod by optical or coaxial cable. This Onkyo ND-S1 has USB port that allows you to play music on your PC digitally via Itunes. Feed Apple Lossless files from your Ipod, Iphone, Itunes, to DAC or digital receiver or recording device. Make hi-fi digital recordings directly (subject to SMCR and digital masking) without loss of sound quality.
Digital media transport converts iPod / iPhone and PC (Itunes) into a hi-fi component with digital optical and coaxial outputs. When connecting PC and iPod simultaneously, it is possible to change music from iTunes by switching to the synchronous mode. It adopted flat chassis which can control complicated resonance from rolling and eliminates coloration due to vibration. Remote included (requires CR2025 Battery (99 cents on Ebay)), Power Cable, and Optical Digital Cable..
Both the optical and coaxial S/PDIF is active simultaneously, hence you can feed two DACs at once. USB connectivity to the PC allows using PC as a transport, or for Ipod Sync-ing functionality.
