The medical field like other professions has it's hero's and Dr. William Osler, a Canadian Physician and one of the Founding Professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital is one of them. He started the first residency program for specialty training of physicians and has been described as the "Father of Modern Medicine". Osler was well known for his love of literature, especially the Bible, and probably had read and studied every important work ever printed. He frequently wrote essays and gave lectures and one of the greatest is his Address delivered to Yale Students, Sunday Evening, April 20th 1913.
Springfield, Illinois: Charles C Thomas, Publisher, 1969. Hardcover. 8vo. Blue boards with gold lettering. 41pp. Near Fine condition. The binding is very tight. Textbody has (2) minor corner fold creases which would be the only real text flaws present. Slight toning to d.j. but hardly any at all to interior pages.. We feel the last (3) detail images well illustrate the volume's worst flaws.
A really amazingly well preserved book.
Otherwise, the book's blue exterior boards are near pristine and b
inding & text block are complete, bright, tight & without flaws.
No incidences of pen writing, no missing, torn or otherwise abused pages.
A fine conditioned book, appearing mostly undisturbed & unread.
What we consider to be the worst condition flaws are well shown in the final (2) detail images.
