Unmarked Sidemount Fly Reel

Here is an unmarked horizontal sidemount fly fishing reel.
I showed these photos to a knowledgeable sidemount reel collector.  He thought it is an angler modified reel, not made at the factory.
The spool is from a 2 3/16" diameter, 1" wide 80 yard Pflueger Progress, an early one as evidenced by the hard rubber knob.  The frame appears to come from a Meisselbach Amateur No. 2 side mount fly reel, a 3" X 1" reel.  Apparently the angler wanted a narrow diameter, wide spool horizontal mount reel.

here is no gear ratchet or click.  Spool cranks freely when the drag lever is depressed.  Light at 2.3 ounces.
