Description
This rare and interesting cartridge primer socket cleaner was designed by Wesnitzer (I assume) and manufactured by Cox & Spraque of San Jose, California more than 50 years ago (exact date of manufacture unknown). The name Wesnitzer does not appear on this tool but has 218 B stamped on it.
A .218 Bee cartridge head fits into the chamber of the tool that is rotated
from 250 to 1750 rpm
by
a hand or power drill secured in a vise.
As the cartridge is pushed into the chamber, the tool housing moves back and a rotating steel brush pushes into the primer pocket cleaning it out.
The chamber of the tool fits a case base diameter of .408 (10.4 mm) and the steel brush fits a primer with
0.175" (4.45 mm) diameter.
Besides the .218 Bee, I believe the pocket cleaner would also fit .25-20 and .32-20 Win cartridges.
The original box and instruction brochure is included.
